I asked my local business hosts to recommend authentic Bavarian fare. We were able to walk to this classic beer garden from the office. I had the pork knuckle (ham hock), part of a huge pretzel and the cheese, onions, and other accompaniments. Of course we each had a stein of their local brew and enjoyed ourselves in the open air seating. The pork was cooked to perfection with some crispy outside skin and delicious gravy. The cheese was mild and tasty, and of course the huge pretzel was shared by a few of us. The beer is light and tasty, and perfect on a hot summer night. We discovered this place near our Hotel in Munich and decided to try it for dinner. We were able to sit outside and we received a warm welcome by the staff. The menu was available in english and our waitress was able to understand our questions and to take our order. The food is typical german food, but well presented, the service is good and fast, the beer is also very good and not too pricy. The prices for the food are also reasonable. This is a great location, not too crowded. It is also possible to go in the biergarten just for a beer. A place to recommend.
Made a booking for 21 people a week in advance and yet with just 15 other people eating there, when staff finally came over to take our order, they said they had run out of burgers, surely not true or was this to make us order more steak meals etc.Once food did arrive there was nothing wrong with it, but by that time we would have eaten anything.I'd go back, if just to give them a 2nd chance, as it surely couldn't be the poor twice .... Could it ..?
...and somehow I had expected a little more as it is supposedly one of the better places. Somehow I still prefer the Bayrischer Biergarten in Darmstadt vs this one. The Obazda (cheese with red pepper and other condiments) was good but heavy and there were too many onions on top and it was accompanied with the typical bread (that I don't like that much). Overall nice but "nothing to write home about"

A large Biergarten, slightly outside the centre of Munich with over 2000 capacity and obviously very busy on a summer’s evening. We had really wanted to have the Biergarten experience in Munich, but sadly this wasn’t very enjoyable, largely because of the hostile staff. They were unnecessarily unfriendly, unhelpful and not nice at all.
I would like to rate them a 3.5 but I don't have that capability. They have an enormous outside garden to eat in and the restaurant is in a very nice...
Typical Bavarian food with lots of choice, the menu is updated on a daily base. Beer is absolutely delicious.
