Autanes Restaurant

We stayed the night and had breakfast at the restaurant. The was a really good selection of food for breakfast including great croissants, bread selection, cold meats, soft boiled eggs and a vast selection of drinks, The atmosphere is also very pleasant and as is the service. This is Ancelle a small town so don't expect five star Asia level spreads here but I would say its pretty much on par with a typical 4 star Australian/US Mainstream hotel spreads which is in this small town was a pleasant surprise.

While spending a week in the Hautes-Alpes, I wanted to experience some nice local foods and was recommended to visit this place by the landlord of the flat I was staying in. The settling of the restaurant is appealing while the food served is surprising for such a remote location. The only down side to it is the reference to a French show nobody knows about except French people. Apart from that, the restaurant is to be recommended if in Ancelle even if the service is slightly slow.

Very nicely cooked food. Interesting take on a burger hashbrowns instead of a bread bun! Perfect steak too. A bit on the pricey side though but good value considering the quality of the food. Service wasn't spot on, but good enough.

Below expectations. We thought we could have typical traditional dishes but unfortunately there was a poor selection. Food was quite good but not enough to justify the bill. Wine was good. Reserva una mesa ahora

We loved their fish. Truth be told, food at the Chamois hotel next door is also good value for its money - but Chamois smells old and musty. So Autanes wins hands down
