I love Ethiopian cuisine, and I especially love that they have so many vegan dishes. That being said, it pains me to have to rate this establishment as sub-par. It may have just been an off day. I arrived around 11:30am. We were the only ones there. I ordered a vegan plate. I was advised I could choose 4 sides, so I chose Misir Wat, Tikel Gomen, Gomen, Shiro sp? . My lunch companion is a meat eater; she requested Doro Wat, but was advised they didn 't have that today. So, make that 2 vegan plates. No problem. 40 min later our food comes out. The great: Their homemade Ethiopian cheese was the best I have found in Phoenix. I expected something crumbly like a feta but their version is more creamy and complimented the food perfectly. The lamb tibbs were delicious and their injera bread has good flavor and texture. The good: The vegetarian combo is very inexpensive for the amount of food you receive. Highly recommend. The service is attentive, polite, and able to make good recommendations. The bad: Their berbere spice blend is fairly mild and a heavy on cinnamon/nutmeg so their Kik (yellow peas) and Misir Wot (lentils) are more sweet than spicy. I visited this restaurant a few years ago when it was quite small, so I was thrilled to see the expanded and spacious new venue! The décor was beautiful, with raw Madagascan wood paneling, hand-carved chairs, and creative lighting that set a lovely ambiance. The Ethiopian music playing at the perfect volume added to the experience. I ordered a platter with two entrees - Gomen and Shiro Wot - and a Sambusa appetizer for a quick lunch. Although I found the hot sauce a bit tart, it was plenty spicy, and the Sambusa was delicately tasty. Came here for the first time for Mother's Day. We called ahead to make sure they had gluten free injera. The food is delicious. So much flavor! It's cooked to order so don't expect to get your food in 15 minutes, but I promise it's worth the wait! The decor is beautiful and the service is great. They are allergy conscious. Best part was finding out the carrot cake was both gluten free and vegan!

My wife and I shared a sampler platter that was something like $11, and we not only were stuffed full of delicious food, but we even had leftovers for another single meal. The owner was so nice, and though it’s a little tight in there, I think most people get takeout and don’t actually sit down and eat. We really really liked the food, and are looking forward to heading back.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The server was friendly and helpful, and I loved the atmosphere. My partner and I tried the vegetarian sampler, which came with four side dishes. It was a generous amount of food and everything was delicious. The prices are reasonable and it's a perfect place for sharing. We will definitely be returning.

Authentic Ethiopian and extremely affordable. My boyfriend and I split the Veggie combo plate and it was enough for the both of us (not to mention only $11.99). Service is kind and friendly but not the fastest. I wish I could rate 5 stars but the app will not let me because it isn’t exclusively a vegan/vegetarian restaurant. Reserva una mesa ahora

My husband and I love coming here for a tasty vegan lunch that does not break the bank. All of the vegetarian samplers are vegan. My husband and I got the sampler for two and with a 20% tip, we only paid $20.86 for a healthy and filling lunch. 10/10 recommend eating here

This place is nice. Kitfo taste amazing. the vegie platter too, the location is also easy to navigate just off the main street (Mcdowel), they have parking space at the back of the restaurant!
