Autre Monde Cafe Spirits

I was looking for a (non chain) restaurant that served good food but didn’t want to go to the city and fight traffic. I happened upon Autre Monde and we decided to give it a try for my b day. We had dinner there on the patio last night and it totally exceeded my expectations, the food was fantastic!! It is not easy to maintain consistently great food on the slowest night of the week after being open for 12 years. Hats off to the chefs whom definitely put their passion on the plate last night!! Croquettes delicious with chunks of ham. Octopus tender, perfectly seared, even the accompanying potato was perfectly brown and crisp. Husband and I went to Autre Monde on a Friday evening to enjoy the patio. We each had a craft cocktail (the Provencal 75 is my favorite! and shared several plates. I struggle to choose a favorite plate- each one was perfectly executed and hit the spot! We had the shrimp (delightfully crispy , chicken thighs (I loved the flavor , neevik (I don't particularly enjoy spinach, but I almost ordered a second serving of this! , mezza platter (a classic- homemade pita and hummus/baba , and the Ham and Cheese croquettas. The owner, Christine, so kindly offered us a dessert on the house. Classy place with impeccable execution all around. We will be back. 5 stars.

Great food, atmosphere, service! I had the octopus! It was simple...one tentacle with a couple fingerling potatoes and thin crispy asparagus and some bursting cherry tomatoes. The light sauce that was drizzled in was phenomenal! (I could gave drank it and lapped it up !! The octopus was cooked to perfection! Super tender and flavorful. It was a perfect light meal! Consistently a fabulous meal. This is a must stop for anyone that enjoys a great meal with a great atmosphere. There is a reason this restaurant is on all the top suburban lists. The service is top notch and the menu is somewhat unique and awesome. White asparagus, rabbit pasta, pork chops, steak, etc. everything was incredible. Had a wonderful meal before a concert down the street. Great cocktails as well. Will definitely be back Kid-friendliness: Our teenagers were welcomed there. I had a superb risotto and my friend enjoyed the chicken thighs. Great starters and sides. Plenty of food. I think the wine may have been more sophisticated than my palate; I found it good but not great. Little noisy as it filled up. Otherwise, terrific place for an out-of-the-ordinary meal.
