Aux Armes D'estaing

We discovered this restaurant at random whilst looking for lunch near the river in Estaing. Glad we did. The meal we had was one of our favourite of this year’s holiday. So good we came back a couple of days later to try the dishes we missed the first time. Service is extremely friendly. You have to have your wits about you as the proprietor comes out wielding a large board with all the days options on so you need the think quickly : What stood out? A fabulous salmon panna cotta with cucumber sorbet perfect in the 35C heat. A stuffed pork dish that held together only just long enough to get to your table and then dissolved in the mouth. Even the side salads were a work of art and full of tasty morsels of nuts and dried fruit. Finally if you like raspberries and they’re doing it, have the raspberry soup. Basically just raspberries and cream, but it seems everyone else is doing it wrong as I’ve never had raspberries that taste that good. Amazing. I had that twice

service and irreproachable reception. the team is very welcoming, smiling and its good mood is communicative. No good pass. well presented dishes. the table was decorated with eggs and small chocolates and flowers. It opened our appetite. special attention to our grandchildren at the end of the meal this Easter day.

a lunch with friends, a warm welcome from the owners, good local products, listening to the guests. correct quality price. (thank you for the fries barquette) lol.

warm welcome, table in all intimacy, meal worthy of a gourmet. took the menu at 28€ and we are celebrated. the homemade dessert was succulent.
