Holiday, nice weather and still what to do in Kaiserslautern. We planned our start in Kaiserslautern with a light lunch. We visited Ayame for the first time 3 years ago. It is located in the former JVA Kaiserslautern, which was converted a few years ago into the Hotel Alcatraz. A Japanese restaurant fits well here, because the Japanese garden borders directly on the building. We have free parking in the courtyard. Quaint little Japanese joint in the town's old prison will have you thrown off at first sight until the smells from the kitchen lift you out of your chair. From the dumplings to the numerous types of delicous sushi, we just might have finally found our Sushi restaurant in this back woods West Virginian part of Germany.

Recommend making a reservation, the restaurant is not very big. The food is excellent, so fresh made to order! Staff is wonderful! We love going here for dinner!
