Good food, bad service, no acknowledgement of our special occasion. Overall, our experience at Aziza was fine. The interior is well appointed and I was impressed with the fact that the sound level was very well managed in such a large main dining room. The food was all very good. Perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and tasty. The biggest miss for me was the timing, which really took away from the experience. It took 15 minutes for the server to come to our table after we were sat and 30 minutes to get any food or drinks brought to our table. We ordered three small dishes and two mains. Disappointing experience at Aziza. The staff was ignorant and irresponsible. We had a reservation at 7PM to celebrate a special occasion, but our evening was completely ruined by a 1-hour delay in getting our pre-reserved table. There were further delays in taking our orders, with no drink orders served at the bar. We sat for 45 minutes with only water served to us, while others who arrived after us received their drinks and food orders first. The food quality was not as expected, with dry and chewy meat. Great evening at Aziza to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We shared the kefta appetizer the blend of the sauces was amazing! My husband had the basteeya which was as good as the reviews said super flaky pastry shell with flavorful chicken filling. I wish it came with a side of veggies. The cornbread was amazing can’t wait to finish leftover. Lamb shank meat just fell off the bone and the accompaniments were all delicious. Choc chip cookies had a bit too much spice for us. Service was excellent.
We had an early dinner for Father's day. My husband needed accommodations since he has a broken foot, and the hostess brought an extra chair so he could elevate his leg. Food was delicious and very interesting. Flavors are unique and beautifully presented. The lamb shank was the only thing that was disappointing, because it was a little dry and not as flavorful as the other dishes. The shakshouka, squid, prawns, and couscous were the standouts for us. This place is awesome. The menu is very creative and the flavors are thoughtfully balanced. I had the salmon tagine, which was fabulous. My friends had the chicken and a signature Moroccan dish, basteeya, which was fantastic. The first courses were also great (we had the spreads with bread, the charred prawns, and sourdough). I highly recommend this restaurant and I hope to go back soon to try more of the menu!
We tried cured sardines, grilled eggplants, Monterey squids, kefta, cornbread, and lamb shank at the restaurant. All the dishes were excellent, with delicious flavors and beautiful presentation. The standout dish was the lamb shank, which was tender and fell off the bone easily. It was perfectly seasoned to complement the meat's flavor.
