Azuma Japanese is a hidden treasure—I never expected to discover such an incredible spot here. The menu features outstanding dishes with generous portions at very reasonable prices. Every item tastes homemade and truly delicious. They offer a daily lunch special that’s both flavorful and budget-friendly. The curry and rice bowls are excellent, and we also enjoyed the curry udon and grilled fish, all of which were delightful. The restaurant accommodates larger groups with ample seating, and the service is prompt and welcoming. Azuma Japanese is definitely a must-try—you’re sure to love their menu!
Azuma is consistently fantastic. The food is excellent, and the service is very good. The outdoor dining area in the back is a great option for COVID safety, and they provide heaters to keep you warm. My favorite dish is the teriyaki beef and chicken combo, which isn't listed on the menu, but they'll happily prepare it for you. The beef is more like steak and is of high quality, so I always order it medium rare. Pair it with some Asahi beer, and you're all set. Give it a try; you won't be disappointed!
I visited Azuma Japanese on a Monday evening craving some comforting Japanese food. For two people, we ordered a small sashimi platter, curry udon, and a chicken cutlet meal. The sashimi was fresh, and the tuna was especially tasty. I usually test a restaurant’s quality by trying their chicken cutlet first, and they did an excellent job—it was delicious. I’ll definitely return to try more items from the menu.
The servers were extremely friendly, and the menu prices were quite reasonable. There was a wide selection of meals available, including both small and larger plates to suit sharing preferences. The food was served quickly and tasted very fresh. I ordered the okonomiyaki, salmon skin salad, and sautéed beef—all of which were excellent and delicious.

What a wonderful little Japanese restaurant! The beef teriyaki was cooked perfectly to medium rare, and the house sake was reasonably priced. The gyoza was tasty, and the portion sizes were generous. If I lived close by, I would definitely make this place a regular spot!
Great local Japanese food! The place is packed during weekday lunch hours, and I noticed many older Japanese customers dining here. The staff is friendly and works very quickly. The food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable!
Azuma is worth rush hour on the 405 on a Friday night. Excellent. My favorite menu item is their yaki onigiri! In particular the bonito and plum ones! They are life changing.
The place was filled with happy eaters as usual. The cooks smiling and taking care of business in which they do always to make your dish they way you like it!

This Japanese restaurant is a nostalgic favorite of mine that I visit every time I return to Gardena. The food is always consistently delicious.
