We tried this restaurant after seeing the good reviews. Everything starting from the entrees was really bad quality. There 's no doubt that nearly everything was just warmed up. I got the smoked salmon which was covered in what just tasted like sour cream they splattered on the plate with no seasoning. Then I ordered the fish, which was covered in ah much honey it made my stomach hurt. My husband ordered the beef, which he says was okay . This and having us wait over an hour between the entree and the main dish. We came in here soaking wet and were soothed by the friendly welcome. We tried the luch menu (22 euros for 3 courses) and were very happy we had gone for the upmarket option. Starter was risotto with chicken, then either a steak with mash or dorade, then either a choice of cheeses with salad or a apple pie on a biscuit. A nice selction of wines by the glass, we tried a red Alsace and a Givry. Little nibbles appeared on the table, truffle flavoured spread and a creamy butter with lovely crispy rolls, then a mini cauliflower soup with a mini ham wrap. Plus home made bisuits with coffee afterwards. Next time we come here we want to try the big menu. Highly recomemended.
The restaurant as just changed the name is now called the black white. Since it opening a bit more than a year ago we, my wife also with relatives had many meals whether at lunch or diner. When I wish to please some one with gastronomic food that's the place I go. The couple owns the place place are both charming, She is looking after you in the restaurant the chef indeed the kitchen but often at the end of the service goes around the tables seeking for comments.The variety of the menu not too big but with sufficient variety. Never been disappointed, the meals delicious and of good value.
We took the Menu Découverte and were not disappointed. The foie gras was delicious and served in an original way (with a layer of raspberry confiture). Although I am not a fan of rabbit, I decide to go for it and the experience was very positive. All in all a good meal at a reasonable price. I also tried a glas of their expensive Gewurztraminer as a dessert wine and it was definitely worth it. Service was a tad too fast. The black and white of its name is obviously reflected in its decoration. I must admit this is not entirely to my taste: rather cold than cosy but not disturbing.

We were looking forward to trying out this restaurant that we had walked by on various occasions. First deception, arrocant reception upon arrival (we apologised for our late arrival). Long moments of waiting before courses were served. We chose a dish, what should have been the highlight of the main courses (Steak Rossini) on offer judging by the price- stringy piece of steak...We didn't bother with the dessert. I don't recommend this restaurant.
We chose this restaurant randomly and we were not disappointed! I thought the prices were a little high at first, but they were justified! The amuse bouche was delicious, and while we only chose a la carte, both dishes were beautifully prepared and really delicious. My husband recommends the quail he said it melted in the mouth! Both waitresses also were charming and very helpful. Highly recommend.
I had actually hoped, new name meant new ownership....as I didn't have great memories from last time. Food is fine but not overly great. What really overshadows the experience, is the atmosphere- and the stiff-upperlipped waiter. Sorry, but no more returning to this restaurant.
