"All around great BBQ. Affordable too. Tender brisket and chicken. The sauce is tasty and all the sides are homemade( you can easily tell the difference in this case) ill go back for sure."

The barbecue here is excellent, and not a side show for the entertainment. We've tried many cuts of meat here, and almost without exception, we have come away pleased. The favorite remains the smoked chicken, and it is because of here that it became my test dish for barbecue as opposed to the traditional sliced brisket. In past visits we were quite enamored with the jalapeno cheese and German sausages, Carolina pulled pork, sliced brisket, pork ribs, and the country ham. Only the turkey has disappointed us but again that was two years ago. As for sides, the mac and cheese continues to wow, and they even make corn on the cob interesting by leaving it vertical in a pile of sweet butter. Mrs. RJG did express some displeasure with the pinto beans stating they were a bit too much on the lard side. And the potato salad wasn't a hit either as she claimed it was too sour. Back to the positive, both the BBQ sauce and the hot pepper sauce are excellent condiments. Though they aren't needed to make the barbecue taste good.

Back Forty Smokehouse is amazing. The brisket is tender, juicy, and smokey. Best I've had in DFW. The chicken is smokey and tender, too. Ribs were meaty and moist.Sauce not needed but was tasty. Green beans were chock full of bacon and soft onions, not just dumped from a can. We had to wait maybe two minutes for more register paper (which we didn't mind at all and they offered an apology and free banana pudding for our wait. So so yummy. The beer is soooo cold in an ice cold schooner, that turns to beer slush (yumm! The building is so cool, too. Definitely recommend this place.

Great BBQ and live music with the coldest beer.. Great atmosphere at Back Forty Smokehouse. I tried a three meat plate and while I usually am a huge rib fan, I sometimes judge on brisket as I believe most bbq joints just don't try very hard. The brisket was an excellent moist cut with nice dark edges, just the way I like it.<br/ <br/ Good sides and really freakin' cold beer in a giant mug. I would seriously consider stopping by if you are in the area especially on live music night out on their giant patio under the pecan trees.

VERY good brisket sandwiches. The sides are all good and the peach cobbler is YUM!! Loaded baked potatoes are good, too. <br/ <br/ This is a great place to bring the family. There's plenty of room, rarely a wait, and some of the nicest, most helpful employees you'll ever meet!
