On the way to a short holiday in Xanten we interrupted the arrival in Brühl because the beautiful castle Brühl was long on our “To do – List”. It is one of the first important creations of Rococo in Germany. After a detailed, extremely interesting and entertaining guided tour through the punk rooms of the beautiful castle of Cologne's Kurfürsten and archbishop Clemens August, we went a bit through the baroque gardens and wanted to strengthen ourselves with a snack before we went on. You get a nice breakfast selection, where you get a coffee/tea, selection of breads and selections of cheese or meat for your breads - for a fair price. All is fresh from their bakery. Only pity thing is that is it quite popular with the older generation of Bruhl.

3 of us ordered the sausage and potato salad, only to find that the sausage was impossible to cut - even with knives with serrated edges!! The lettuce was brown.
