My partner and I went to Bären and ordered the Wurst Teller Ausschnitt and .75L of the house red wine. The wine was OK and well-priced but the wurst teller (sausage plate) was disappointing in every respect. For 8 euros, the portions were very small...and the meats had nearly no discernible flavor. It was clear that they sat in a refrigerator for some time and were quite dry. The atmosphere is very good, one of the better vibes in Tübingen... The other thing to know is that this restaurant is cash only. I wish they had a sign or something indicating this, as it's very inconvenientif you need to walk to an ATM to get cash. In the end, I probably won't go again as the food wasn't great and pay...
We went recommended by a family member living in the city, as his preferred place in town. And I understand perfectly well why. Although super crowded, we were lucky to find a spot on a busy Friday evening, and even crammed into a corner we...enjoyed it so much we spent hours here. The beer is cheap, and the small German plates are all absolutely fabulous. We tried almost everything on the menu and nothing was wasted. Best meal in town for sure. And the best of all, was that after beers, food, shots and everything, we paid not even 25 euros per person. Excelento!!
Baren is fantastic and always bustling which shows how good it is amongst tourist and locals. The portions of the food are deliberately small so you can order a tapas style range of options. My mum and I loved the Schupfnudeln and the Wurst Teller....It is really excellent. The service on the night we went was a bit slow and it took a long time to get staffs attention but really considering how delicious and affordable the food was, we didn’t mind!

I love the...opportunity to taste lots of different German good--the kasespetzel (noodles and cheese) and pilze knoblauch are delicious. And the service is wonderful. Just very welcoming and friendly.

German Tapas basically. Small portions, very good quality, tasty wine and beer as well. The restaurant is perfect for a night out with friends, always very crowded, reservation is highly recommend.

We brought my mom who was visiting from the States here last week. So much fun to try so many Swabian cuisines and to be able to share. The beer was excellent as well
