My husband and I frequently visit Bagel Express and usually order the same items. However, for the past eight months, the price has varied each time we ordered. Today was the breaking point when our bill topped $17 for two bagels with spread and two Snapples. We brought this to the clerk's attention, pointing out that it didn't seem right. She reprocessed our order, and it came down by $1. When we requested a receipt, we noticed everything was marked as a "custom order." 7/21/21 I went in with my girlfriend, ordered a bagel with cream cheese and jelly, they charge me $3.99 and I received a bagel with almost no cream cheese and the jelly was all over the place, I had to go to the bathroom and wash my hands due to the jellynastiness and then demand a refund for this horrendous bagel. The more concerning issue, was the fact that I saw a bald manworking there, who was peeling potatoes in the back with no gloves on also while eating and drinking. Then I see the same baldman come to the front, to cook eggs for a customer again with no gloves on. That is beyond unsanitary and I believe violatesNYS health codes. On July 21, 2021, I visited Bagel Express with my girlfriend and ordered a bagel with cream cheese and jelly. I was charged $3.99, but the bagel hardly had any cream cheese, and the jelly was a mess. I ended up having to wash my hands in the bathroom due to the sticky situation and ultimately demanded a refund for this terrible bagel. More alarming was the sight of a bald man in the back peeling potatoes without gloves while also eating and drinking. He then came to the front to cook eggs for a customer, again without any gloves on. This is incredibly unsanitary and seems to violate New York State health codes. I'd rather go hungry than return to this dreadful place!
I honestly don’t understand how anyone could rate this place below 5 stars. It’s sparkling clean with kind, friendly staff. If price is a concern, remember you get what you pay for. The food is high quality and cooked perfectly. My husband and I ordered egg sandwiches here, and they were truly the best—no exaggeration—the absolute best bagels we’ve ever had, whether on the island or anywhere else. Having tried countless bagel shops over the years living here, this place stands out as top-notch. I won’t go anywhere else again. Bravo, Bagel Express!
I wasn’t a fan of how the lines were organized. I waited in an undesignated spot to order for about 5-10 minutes, while several employees walked by without offering assistance. When I approached the register to place my order, I was told to go stand in a different area. I just wanted two bagels, but they didn’t even write down my order. I had to return to the other side and wait again for someone to ask me what I wanted. The customer service was poor, and I didn’t like the taste of the bagels either.
I had an excellent breakfast at this restaurant. The location is quite convenient, and the interior is spacious, clean, and well-organized. It was my first visit, and I will definitely be coming back.

The staff at this restaurant is pleasant and welcoming, and the establishment is well-maintained. However, the bagels need some work; they were thin and had a somewhat chalky flavor.
I stopped by for a quick breakfast and had a wonderful experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the bagel I enjoyed was delicious too.
