Came here for dinner on a Friday night. After eating a ton of heavy meats all day, we were really craving for something lighter. We went inside and were greeted immediately. The inside was a bit small but didn't seem crowded. However there were a lot of people working. We asked to be sat outside and we were the only party out there. Our server was very friendly and kind. This was my first time visiting Astoria. As a Greek, I had high expectations. Overall the food was good but the experience was not the best and I would probably try another place if I can visit in the future. Our waiter was a bit rude to us. We got the pastitsio which was a generous portion but felt a bit dry. My yiayia likes to leave a bit of sauce in the meat to keep it moist. I was craving Greek food, so my boyfriend and I stopped by this spot as it was highly rated, and were so glad we did! We were seated quickly around 9PM, and it was still pretty packed. The restaurant was fairly spacious and not too loud. Our server was so friendly and checked up on us frequently to make sure we were doing ok. We ordered the dips which were DELICIOUS. I was really craving fresh seafood that was cooked healthy and after researching I stumbled on to this little place in Astoria! BEST Greek food in NYC. Skip the other places all together and set your sights here. Fresh fish, great vegetables, good Greek wine service that feels like family. Very attentive staff! The wait can seem overwhelming but it goes by fast. The only thing I cringed at was where the food sits and waits for the waiter to pick up. Too many people walk by it in the entry way so it kinda made me nervous about it being exposed! Other than that great food!

Of course Astoria is known for its Greek food, and Bahari Estiatorio is certainly on the top of that roster. When you sit down you get a bread basket. Then we ordered the spanakopita which was delicious and a whipped feta cheese appetizer which came with fresh pita bread. For an entrée I got the chicken souvlaki. My recommendation for this place is that if you go with a group, everyone picks a different side because they are served family style and you can share them.
A bunch of us dined in Bahari. Always a treat. I don't know why I haven't reviewed them earlier. Food and service outstanding. Food and drinks always flow here. Octopus, salad, papoutsaki (stuffed eggplant with beef and bechamel). Grilled squid. T-Bone steak. Lamb chops. Lemon potatoes. Highly recommend basically EVERYTHING. Nice and spacious. You'd never get that impression from the outside. Always busy so plan ahead. Staff always attentive. Food ALWAYS delicious.
Food and atmosphere were OK but our experience was ruined by the service. We only got 1 appetizer between two because we wanted to try on other places as well in the area. The server however made weird expression, asked us are you sure? and felt like didn 't treat well. I am never coming back.
Wow! Everything that was put on the table was delicious. Appetizers, entrees, pita, I could eat here every day of the week and be happy. Authentic servers and food served quick and hot.

Best Greek food that I had outside of Greece. Service and atmosphere are low key and efficient. The food is straight out outstanding ! 100% recommend
