We were looking forward to eating here,on arrival from Geneva, have had some decent value meals here on past visits. Therefore I am sorry to report that this restaurant is closed at present, don't know if it will reopen. Our favourite good value, nice friendly place to stay the Hotel Post is also closed, due I believe to the health of the owners not being so good..

Our party had to find their own meal as our hotel restaurant was closed for the night. We were made most welcome and the waiter cordoned off an English section so we could all sit together. The food was good and ample and a relief from the fine dining at the hotel. Service was quick and very cheerful. Prices were good for Switzerland. Will visit again if in town.

If you want a well prepared hearty meal for a reasonable price in Kandersteg this is it. Don 't expect white tablecloth or a fancy dining room, this is a rail station cafe that serves home cooked meals . The portions are big enough that you won 't go away hungry. I would recommend this cafe to a friend.

As an American, this place reminded me of a typical diner. The food was good, simple and affordable. If you want a fancy dinner go elsewhere. Best of all, in this land of meat and cheese, there was a totally adequate salad bar included with dinner.
