Located within the Northern Hotel so bathrooms are shared. Not particularly appealing to look at as the decor and style of the restaurant is pretty dated. Wooden bar and walls, heavy curtains, wooden tables and bulky wooden chairs. Just didn’t seem comfortable to sit and relax in. Also playing 90s music which I suspect is from a Now CD. Could do with a revamp to make the space more bright and open. Staff were friendly enough but there seemed to be some confusion over who was serving our table. We had three different staff come over and ask us for drinks, and also food. Food itself was nothing amazing, average roast dishes and other meals. During my wait for my car, I stayed at the Northern Hotel and used it as a base. I was 15 minutes late for the 10:00 breakfast cut-off, but the manager kindly arranged a delicious full Scottish breakfast for me. The food was excellent, the free wifi allowed me to work while I waited, and the bar staff were friendly and accommodating.

Ate here in January with my mother and a friend... food was very good and nicely presented buy why the chips with everything? Mum's salad was great and our friend's soup of the day was, according to her, excellent. I had lasagne and would have much preferred a larger portion and no chips!

An excellent Afternoon Tea , plenty of lovely sandwiches, quiche , sausage rolls and beautiful cakes and scones , Tea and Coffee and excellent service . Thank you for making it perfect . Will definitely be returning.

Splendid Asian food and friendly staff! There's also a place to sit outside. I'll be back again soon!
