Bajas Tex Mex Taqueria

I used to enjoy ordering food from Bajas, especially from the Thayer St. location. I'm not sure if the entire chain's food quality is declining or if it's just this specific branch. Last night, I ordered a steak and cheese sandwich with fries through DoorDash. I expected the delivery to take about 40 minutes, but it arrived in just 30, so no complaints there. The food was prepared correctly, which I also appreciate, but unfortunately, it was soggy! The sandwich was nearly inedible, and the fries tasted like they had been reheated in the microwave. The tacos had barely any meat, and they looked quite messy. I understand that takeout can sometimes get soggy, but this was excessively wet, despite the fact that I only added pork, onion, cilantro, and guacamole with salsa on the side. My critique isn't aimed at Bajas as a whole; I still recommend the locations in Johnston or South Attleboro instead of this one. Additionally, I think Bajas should consider using different styrofoam containers for their takeout orders. I suspect that contributed significantly to the issues I experienced, aside from the lack of meat. It’s just really disappointing.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. They never answer the phone, which has cost me both time and money. I called several times without any response, and when I arrived, the woman at the counter smiled and said it wasn't busy, but that's not the case—I never get an answer when I call. I won’t be coming back here again. Additionally, the staff is often rude, and the food quality is quite poor compared to other Baja locations. I regularly visit the Thayer Street and Newport Avenue locations, but this one on Mineral Spring is by far the worst.

The food is always consistent here and the workers are always pleasant. It's a cute spot and authentic. It's always busy in here so you know it's good...but the wait is never long. The only thing I recommend is if you get the nachos, ask them to leave in the oven a little longer because the cheese never melts. Either that or also get the melted queso on top to help melt. I’m not sure what’s happened recently, but if you’re going to charge $4.00 for chips and salsa, they should definitely not be stale. Otherwise, everything else was quite good!
