"My husband and I moved to the area 9 years ago and avoided this place because of the 'not so great ' reviews. It goes to show that you should never rely on reviews because we have gone back 3 times now over the past 2...months and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the service (as did our friends). The dining room is beautiful...huge high ceilings. The tables were well spaced and as a result, we felt totally safe dining there in Covid times."

we came from ottawa to merrickville on a hot and beautiful Sunday afternoon (formerly juli 2022). the terrace was nice and pretty busy, but we have a table right away. there were only two servers that gave orders and a third person who delivered some of the...measures to the tables. our server was a woman with medium age who seemed a bit roaring when she arrived to take our drinks orders. she asked me first what I would like to drink and I asked her what cocktail she could suggest (because the menu didn't list certain cocktails (or maybe I didn't see where they were listed) and had simply the generic word cooler. she asked what I like, so I didn't say something too sweet. they said everyone...
Ate at their outdoor patio on an exceptionally warm November afternoon. Food and service were good, the atmosphere was great, and it was wonderful to be able to dine outdoors in November. At first, it seemed that they were following Covid protocol. We had to...register our names when we arrived, staff were wearing masks, and we were given a paper disposable menu. As the meal progressed, we realized that we weren't safe there. The manager took off her mask shortly after greeting us, and was serving people and greeting people without it. Rather than disposing of the paper menus, she gave the same menus to a number of different people. Sanitizing tables involved just wiping the surface lightly...
Walking around Merrickville for the first time and searching for a quaint lunch place, we were attracted by the pretty courtyard adjacent to the beautiful building that houses Baldichin Inn. After waiting a while to be seated in the courtyard, we decided to go inside...the restaurant per the waitress’ suggestion. The decor was pretty enough and some lovely Jazz was playing. It was an acceptable option to sitting under the beautiful September sun. Only two of the approximately six tables that were occupied appeared to have been served. last Friday we were in the soon-to-day inn and ate dinner in the dining room inn. we had pre-dinner drinks in the lounge area, where we were entertaining with some people and had a great time. after that we moved to the dining room for. our server laurie was amazing! she served the entire bar and the dining room itself! crazy, but true. she did everything with a friendly smile and attention to everyone table. Note that I have not even come to the food or drink part of my review, so can not comment on it. my friend (brown skinned woman and I (caucasian went in after 1 o'clock on Tuesday and the area was almost full. the older male bartender. (owner? manager? specified, he only has space on the bar. my friend went into the washroom and I tried to sit on the bar and he said I had to sit on the other side (from the escaping area and right in front of the garmen the bar. I followed and pulled chairs for us when I saw that a 4 satish cleaned, set and free was cleaned. the atmosphere is pretty nice and it's okay. for the price they charge, you would expect much better. server was quite uncomfortable as she was the only one. Beware that someone decided to take the day off and she was. not our problem, they tell their manager. very expensive for food quality. it took a lot of time to take orders because it was all electronic and she went into another entry. finally came the bill, now she quickly showed me on the tablet. I went with a friend. The food looked good. We were told many things could not be served owing to some problem in the kitchen. We accepted that (these things happen) and ordered salads which sounded good. After over an hour 's wait, on the patio,...I asked why all the tables around us had received their meals, all of which arrived well well after us. The server checked and reported (sheepishly) that the order had NOT been typed in . They were uncertain how long it would now take. We, of course, left. ...... An elderly disabled person and a person of colour .....I like to believe that was not the reason for the dreadful treatment.
I had not read good reviews but we decided to give them a try. We were greeted by a man NOT wearing a mask, but we decided to take a table. The place was empty so we could choose any table we wanted. When the...server arrived at the table without a mask, I asked if they were wearing them.NO. Also, the price for a poutine on the online menu was $12.99 and the price on the menu was $17.99. I didn 't realize had gotten so expensive. So, we got up , left, went to the Goose and Gridiron up the steer and were treated with a great meal.
We went to Baldachin and had the strangest experience. The owner was crusty and rude. I asked what was good on the menu and he said that everything was good or he wouldn 't have been putting it on the menu. (said rudely with no humour)....A neighbouring table mentioned that the music was unusual and he refused to change it. The owner seems like a My Way or the High Way kind of guy. Too bad because the food is delicious, but we won 't be coming back.
