I went here with a friend for the dineLA dinner special because I’ve had numerous pleasant dining experiences here in the past. Tonight the service from our waiter was subpar. He seemed distracted, hard to “find” and inattentive. His busboy and another delightful server, Miles, saved the experience for us. The kitchen and bar also seemed a bit off, with things being nicely presented, but tasting “just ok”. The setting was lovely, as always. The server was friendly but awful in the service area.He did not split our order. When we asked for another plate we never received one. The people behind us that ordered the exact same thing split had their salads and dinner split properly. I also requested extra dressing for the salad which had blue cheese. minutes later he arrived with Caesar dressing. When he asked us if we would like to order a dessert we said yes, but he came back for the order about minutes or so later. I went to BaleenKitchen on Saturday for DineLA and found out that they don't do DineLA on the weekends!!! I've been there for DineLA only on weekends in the past since most of us humans work during the week. This was not noted on the DineLA link while making a reservation. The food has always been good in the past but this time it was not memorable and I'll probably not go back there again though I really like the restaurant for special occasions the last years. That is very unfortuate.

Great spot I never knew about despite living in the area for years. Food was quality and large portions. Great ambiance overlooking the boats in marina with live music in background. Birthday meal was awesome. Service was slow, but we were in no hurry and enjoying, so didn't mind so much.
Taking advantage of Dine LA to try out Baleen Kitchen for the first time. We were not disappointed. Everything was great, food, service and ambiance. It will be one of our favorite places from now on.
I didn’t get the table I requested, and the service was exceptionally slow. I had to try to get the server’s attention a number of times. Food as always was exceptional!!
Our server recommended the chicken and I never order chicken when out to eat. It was amazing. Best chicken ever. I would definately have it again.

Our server I think Tony was so nice and helpful, beef strogonoff could have had a little more sauce. Overall fabulous.
The food is so so but the views of the Marina is wonderful.
