Ballena Beach Bar - Reservar una mesa

We’ve had a very nice dinner yesterday evening and came back the following day for an after beach snack and drink around 6pm. The place was empty and we weren’t aloud to sit in the lounge for a quick sundowner because apparently you need to reserve and pay extra so we left. What a great disappointment. We’re regular visitors to this beautiful island and good friends of BL3 and Maison Joly. For sure we’ll not come back to Ballena and won’t recommend it to our friends. You need to rethink your customer service and attitude...

Ballena is located in the North side of Ilhabela, in Siriúba beach. The restaurant is rather small, but has an amazing outdoor structure, where you can enjoy your meal with your feet on the sand, with a great view to the ocean. The service is great, the staff is friendly and helpful. The food was very good as well, I truly recommend the Octopus Vinaigrette! The prices are rather fair when compared to nearby restaurants, such as Viana. Beautiful sunset as well!

Although a bit more expensive than other beach restaurants, this is an awesome place to bring your family either for lunch or dinner. Our two toddlers (ages 4 and 2) had a blast playing in the shallow water while Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a great selection of sea food, wines and caipirinhas. Definitely one of the best beach spots we visited during our vacation at Ilha Bela.

If you lucky you can arrive by boat and call to get a ride from and to the restaurant. I highly recommend the octopus vinagrete, good appetizer for two. They have a fresh water shower at site, so you can release the salt water or get a cool down. Price are reasonable if you look for international standards.

great place to chill out in front of the beach! great service and food! great wine list which is a great option at the beach and not so common. Definitely will be back soon!
