Food OK...... not really worth what was paid. Much better pub food in and around the area. I ordered Fish Chips battet had a slight burnt taste but fish itself nice. Frozen chips always a disappointment, garden peas were typical garden peas (which are my fav so no complaints) tartar sauce nice. £1.50 for 1 slice of dry bloomer was shocking, the butter was lovely and salty though and my favourite part of the meal strangely. Mum ordered scampi which she said was OK albeit a tad hard. Hubby had the signature hunters chicken which tbh did not look appetising but he seemed to enjoy and said was OK. We popped in for a quick lunch as we had not tried this pub previously. There are some unusual items on the menu such as the Korean Chicken burger along with the more standard pub fair. I tried the Korean Chicken burger , and another tried the Hunter's Chicken which is served on a gammon steak. These were both very good. My wife had the steak and was quite impressed. The pub is a very nice looking place with comfortable seating and the staff were quick and friendly. Prices were approximately 12 pounds a head at the time of writing so very reasonable. Came in about a month ago for Saturday lunch, my husband wanted lasagne, we were told that it had just been taken out of the freezer so not available. This was about 1pm. A week later I ordered macaroni cheese not available. Today I ordered macaroni cheese not available apparently only available on Sundays. Ordered cauliflower cheese as a side no cauliflower cheese. Ordered a bottle of house red not available bought merlot £2 more expensive. We have been quite regularly since Covid finished but menus need to be updated if items are not available
Came here today as green king pubs are normally decent standards wasn't impressed! We ordered fish and chips on the app 15 minutes later someone came out the kitchen and said there was no fish OK we change our meal then when it comes out the chips are undercooked! Come on guys it's chips! If you Can't get that right there's no chance! Definitely won't return pool table was in poor condition for a £1 a game aswel! Such a shame as theres great views from the pub.

20 people in the place but 45 min wait for possibly the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. Just before service I was told no mushy peas then the advertised tartare sauce was missing to be told none of that either. No where near £10 worth of food at all. Very poor.
We had a reservation for Christmas Eve for six people, and we were thoroughly impressed. The food and service were exceptional, and the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. I highly recommend this restaurant for a relaxing dining experience!
I absolutely love this pub! Since the day we moved to South Shields, it has become our favorite place to eat. They are dog-friendly and offer some healthy options too. The staff is very friendly. I definitely highly recommend this place!
it's just an absolutely beautiful pub. beautiful outside seat area. amazing view (one of the best in south shields, if not the world). beautiful locals. I can't beat it. a must for every tourist
