Celebrate someone's birthday, promotion or dedication? Banana Leaf is a popular place to go for techniques when the occasion is something special. Why only special occasions? Most often because it is so popular for M-F during lunch that you wait for a very long time. This is PACKED! The mix of Southeast Asian dishes such as Malaysian, Thai, Indonesian, Singaporean and Indian food is perfect for the versatile Silicon Valley set. In addition, they have a reduced price lunch menu that makes a decent meal at a decent price.

Great restaurant. I've been there since the beginning when this place opened a few years ago. The owners are family friends. The woman actually went to Malaysia for a few months to train from Malaysian chefs. Not only did she get to know the inadequacies of this kitchen, but she immigrated a few chefs from Malaysia, helped them find apartments and now put them in their restaurant. So this place is as authentic as it becomes.

Love the food, hate waiting and the crowd.... Instead of this place I go to Coconut Grove in the Great Mall. Not quiet as good food, but... less crowded and fast
