A friend and I went for an impromptu dinner but could not decide whether we would each have the BBQ Seafood or 1 of us would have the Beef Tenderloin. The problem is I prefer my steak medium rare and my friend preferred hers well done. Robert the restaurant Manager offered to request the chef to cook half the beef medium rare and half of it well done. This made it possible for us to taste both the beef and the BBQ Seafood. Returned for their Scallops and a gorgeously cooked Salmon as main. I've been here at least 6 times and never had a bad experience.The service is always smooth, professional without being stuffy. The food is Australian with a slight Italian/ french twist but only slightly so. Their wine list is excellent, (no BYO -pretty sure). Revisited Banjo Patersons restaurant as a dual celebration for Mother's Day and my wife's birthday .Popular place and we were told we had secured the last table ( for 5 ) 4 weeks out from the day ! Booking was for 7:30 pm and having arrived on time we were quickly seated .The entire restaurant was full as it was the Mother's Day weekend . The friendly service, atmosphere and food was simply exquisite! Set in a private area, overlooking water views, this heritage sandstone cottage provide a perfect setting for an intimate dinner or lunch. The scallops were cooked and presented to perfection! The spatchcock- main was absolutely delicious. The desert of Sultana and Apple Fritolle was acceptable ( perhaps could not match the entree and main course which were standout. It’s interesting I’m the last we liked it but did not love it. This valentines dinner has returned this placed to my number one restaurant near home. It had nothing to do with my valentine but rather the excellent and amazingly beautiful food. Portions sizes...respectable, flavour rich and healthy. Service as always excellent and great selection of wines. For 130 each this was not only value for money but fine dining. Forget about Sydney cbd restaurants. Would not even bother this place excels I’m all aspects oh and there are water views. Well done banjo P team. Can’t wait to dine again.
It was wonderful to step into the ambiance of Banjo Paterson's Cottage, warm comforting and inviting. Parking was so convenient.The menu had an array of interesting meals to select from which catered for the many likes of our small party. Loved the lamb shanks with the gnocchi. Great view of the bay from where we were seated, even thought was at night. Definitely will be back again, to experience the restaurant during the day.
I can't thank the team enough for helping to make our wedding day so special. We organised our wedding from the other side of the world and the whole process was so easy. Amazing service on the day coupled with fine dining. We couldn't have chosen a better venue. Our whole wedding party had a lovely time. Will be going back for an anniversary lunch on our next visit.
Recently there for a work lunch. Had been there many years ago and it was great to find that the food is even better than ever, the views over the Parramatta River are wonderful and the service is top! It feels as if you are definitely being spoilt in a rather special place.

This restaurant has an excellent reputation and it is well deserved. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. The location is of course a standout nestled on the river. Lovely views and easy to get to. Highly recommend
