We had a quick stop at the gavroche. The panini we ordered was more burned than edible. We also ordered an ice cream which came with a dead fly in it. We told the waiter about the dead fly and he first denied it. When...he finally saw the dead fly too he took the ice cream, disappeared for a couple of minutes and returned with the same ice cream. He just had removed the fly from the bowl! Terrible experience, we fleed as quickly as we could. There are dozens of more decent places to stop by in Ajaccio than that garbage place.
We decided to have lunch at Le Gavroche simply because we thought it would be pretty funny to tell our friends in London that we were going to eat at Le Gavroche. (In London, Le Gavroche is a mega-swanky restaurant that we can never afford!) We ordered panini with fries. A not-too-swanky lunch, but only the ticket for two very hungry caterpillars. Service was friendly and quick. The food was delicious. And the ultimate test? Happens with flying colors. We came back the next day.
We recently stopped at this little place for lunch. The service was slow as they hardly understand English which is ok but what's not ok was after eating nearly all our salad we found a live worm crawling in the salad leaves. We showed the...owner who just shrugged and said it's lettuce it's normal, we were still charged and we paid for the food as communication difficult and We ordered a few things and none were good, would not go back.
Stops for a cup of coffee (after a long arduous walk with a crying baby who luckily fell asleep). Was so happy to just sit and enjoy. but was asked to move to another table for two which was in the sun (I sat at the table for four in the shade and there was a quiet spot for my sleeping baby). I almost left the bar in tears. the place was more than half empty at that moment! And yet I wouldn't move if I had to. terrible experience!

We where hungry and just wanted an easy bite. This place looked ideal and it filled its purpose of giving us food. That was the only thing they managed to do right. It was very expensive for a pasta bolognese which mostly consisted of 3...min pasta and almost no bolognese. If you had bought all the ingredients in the store yourself and made it at home, you would probably make a much tastier and cheaper meal than this.
We had our lunch here. As there were a few locals eating we thought it must be an OK place. We were right, the waitress was very pleasant and helpful and soon produced our meal which was quite large. We had the special meal for...the day but there was quite a selection available. It had a bar inside and the toilets were very clean. Well worth a visit.

Great spot for a simple french bite. House Rose and food was delicious and very well priced . I enjoyed it 100% more than the $96 euro meal I had the night before.
