Bar Restaurant Chez Dan

Chez Dan is one of the best known bar restaurant in Contis, famous for its music and good ambiance. Probably because it is permanently packed, client service is extremely poor and it takes ages to have anything. As an example last night: once seated (reservation was made), it took us 40 minutes to have the table set and be provided with the menu you can’t choose how you want your hamburger cooked the onglet looks like it was run under a truck Galettes are served without any salad or else. Food is good but the service is really poor. They are not very friendly especially the person in charge of the bar. They made you fell that you are not welcome. Do not go a day they are busy it is even worst. For the meat …. you can not ask for a any intermediate cooking you have only 2 choices well done or medium rare …maybe to complicated for the chef . There is not that many choices in Contis ….they know it that’s probably why they don’t really care to made you feel welcome.

Good honest food that would appal to most families. My Boys enjoyed there curried chick and classic burgers, while I had some great prawn kebabs. Good portion sizes. Also good selection of other meat, fish and duck dishes. Also good selection of inexpensive wine, beers and soft drinks. Beers included Guinness and Camden and US pale ales.

Seven of us had a very good meal. I can recommend the set meal of roast chicken chips with pate to start and raspberry panacotta for pud. Great value. Very pleasant waiting staff. Will be coming back next year.

We had heard good things about this restaurant, but it failed to meet expectations the night we went. The serrano wasn't great quality nor the chipirons. Don't think we'll give it a second visit.

Probably the best place to eat in Contis, obviously popular, people waiting for a table at the street. Staff is rather decent, not extremely welcoming. Really tasty burgers.

You can't argue with 35 years of greatness. Bar Chez Dan remains a fantastic bar and an excellent restaurant with prices that are more than fair. A must when in Contis.

We waited 30 minutes for the waitress to get us the bill.it is appalling and shocking.i think this restaurant is the worst

Great place for fish, seafood, burgers and good wine! Very well located, staff very kind and helpful!
