we were deeply disappointed and above all shocked by the lack of objectivity from the boss! For me, a meal should be a pleasure, but this evening was a nightmare! Said the young man who was serving, the boss takes more reservations than he can handle with his reduced staff! We had booked very early in the morning for this famous mussel meal...for 8:30 p.m. Arriving at 8:15 p.m., we were placed right at the exit of the terrace, almost in the parking lot! While other couples who booked in the afternoon had a beautiful table with a view of the water. There we started to wait... Arriving 15 minutes earlier we weren't too worried, except that we We only received our drinks at 8:50 p.m....and then...
It's a really nice restaurant in a great location with beautiful views over Dordogne River. They have themed menus. We tried it once on Sunday, on their burger pizza evening. Both burgers (classic beef duck) were delish. All the food was freshly cooked and looked amazing. Their burgers are gluten-free. The kids are well looked after, there is a bouncy castle, kids menu with ice cream. High chairs can be provided. However, there is no changing table/mat. Great spot, I would strongly recommend. As its a part of camping site, reservations are advisable as it's really popular. Very reasonable priced. Service a little long but very pleasant setting which compensates for the wait. We ordered a plank of foie gras to share, at €17, with 3 slices of foie gras... Price a bit excessive for the quantity, especially when it's not for just one person. It would be important to readjust the prices or the quantity of the board, especially given the prices which are equal or lower in certain restaurants specializing in duck, goose etc... The team remains smiling and pleasant.
We have eaten here a few times and also tried quite a few beers and ice creams. Highly recommended. Very friendly service and host. With our poor French and their English it was sometimes funny.
