We celebrated a milestone birthday with friends and family on the deck over the beautiful Intercoastal. There is no development on the other side so you get a great Vista. Beautiful boats past and even if it was hot outside, the breeze and the shadow made it pleasant. I had the catfish and grits with black beans and rice and spinach for sides. A friend recommended this place and I'm so glad they did. It's out of the beaten path and not a place we could have found ourselves. The staff was great and the food was even better! Our meal began with an assortment of breads that were homemade and amazing. Everyone loved his meals and we all have something else. My friend recommended the crab cake, it was huge, not a 'filler' and delicious. My wife has the coconut wars and the sauce really did the dish. My son had the children's cheeseburger and he said it was delicious. To dessert, I had the Key Lime Tart. I have to go, I was filled and wish I had eaten there, I had ordered a second to go. We just had a good meal at Barbara Jean. The restaurant has seats both inside and outside with a beautiful view of the ICW from its covered deck. The restaurant is bright and cheerful. Cocktails and wine were moderately expensive. Our server Justin was very attentive and very personal. My wife had the catch of the day Cobia was blackmailed with 2 pages. The fish was very delicious and the stuffed baked potato excellent. I patterned the chicken roast steak with white engraving and 2 pages. It wasn't the best or the worst I've ever experienced. We split an important lime cake that was good. The bread basket contains some great bakery products. We'll try other ducks again.

While visiting from NC, we ate at a few restaurants throughout our trip. Barbara?s was by far our favorite. The food, phenomenal, the view, beautiful, the staff, wonderful. Our food and drinks were prepared perfectly. The coconut shrimp was battered and cooked to perfection along with the crab cakes, fish, fries, she crab soup, salad, and mixed drinks. Our server, Danielle, was the best waitress we had on our entire trip. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely be enjoying the restaurant.

Had lunch with the fellows from work. This place deserves kudos with 5?stars. Make sure you try the crab soup.. OMG!!! Real crab to delight anyone that loves real authentic seafood. The pumpkin cornbread was to die for as well as all the other things that were ordered. There is seafood, then there is Barbara Jeans on the water. You are missing out if you don?t eat here. The staff was great, and the atmosphere was delightful therefore I will be back with my significant other for sure .. and soon.
