Loved the historical high society vibe with chandelier and all. Loved the live band was surprised as they seemed to have a piano kinda pushed in the wall but they did an amazing job with classy music. I do want to add that this was a last minute on open table and the lady Susan was more than accommodating She took our credit card information and made it happen. I would have rated this a 5 star but the following was disappointing... 1. We got there 5 minutes early, it was raining and another couple waited outside as the door was locked there was no sign, no bell. We had to call and lucky they answered. 2. While I was reserving and communicating with Susan, she said we could dance as there was...

Located in the Theater District, Barbetta is the oldest Italian restaurant in New York City. This historic landmark still owned by the family that founded it back in 1906. Here, they stir clear of the rustic Italian look that’s typical of many Italian restaurants, opting for a grand, elegant dining room complete with Piemontese antiques and a chandelier.<br/ <br/ I ordered the Risotto alla Piemontese with wild porcini mushrooms $21) and paired it with a Piemonte Chardonnay. This dish has been served at Barbetta since its founding in 1906. The risotto was well prepared and had an earthiness from the porcini. While John aka “Mr I can’t stand mushrooms” thought the mushrooms added an unappetizi...

Elegant interior. Food tasty, but not extraordinary (however, the deserts were excellent). Not worth price, even in NY. Head waiter (captain) rude and condescending. The reaction of management when we told them on the way out appeared to confirm that they'd heard these kind of complaints about him before (but obviously have not sufficiently corrected his behavior). Management was apologetic, at least. The service was inattentive as the evening wore on, even as the dining room emptied out with diners heading for Broadway theaters, although the staff were cordial. Perhaps the captain had said something to them that affected their service. Our recommendation below is a close call, so it's not a...

If You Like Great Italian Food .... This is not for someone for someone who likes to the grab and stuff your face. It is an Elegant Restaurant but with a Restful, Relaxed and Friendly Atmosphere.I have Lived in Italy and I can say with Confidence that this is a restaurant that even the most critical but honest people would have to agree is superior in every detail. I am very thankful for such a superior eating experience stills exists today. Reserva una mesa ahora

Great Service. The courtyard atmosphere was perfect for summer dining before a show. The pre-theater 4 course menu was a nice touch with a good array of food. Would definitely return! Eduardo was personable, authentic, and knowledgeable. Must try the peaches in champagne sauce for dessert! Pricy, but worth it for special occasions.

Not quite the experience we expected for such a steep price! Food just mediocre and the service was under par for “fine dining”. Waiters standing around, no music for over half the dinner must have forgotten to turn it on). Just meh
