Barka Mountain Lakes

Our party of 12 was placed in very dark room with no windows. It was more like a storage doom for wines. We couldn’t see anything, couldn’t see anyone. To get to this room we had to go through the kitchen which STUNK of garbage . Very bad smell. It really stunk once you step out of the panics room where we were. We were shut out from the rest of the restaurant. This was supposed to be a family holiday dinner! Food was good, service was good but when you are locked in a dungeon how can you enjoy yourself! I was disappointed! Most likely will not return here again! Sorry the owners and managers should have thought better. It not always about just making money! Oh and don’t write back and invit...

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, a great menu, delicious food, and outstanding service. On the evening we visited with three family members, it was not very crowded. Most of the dishes we tried were excellent as anticipated, although the quality of the lobster dish was somewhat disappointing. If you're in New Jersey and looking for fine Mediterranean cuisine, this is definitely the place to go.

Pros: Food was excellent, ambiance was very nice. It was Christmas Eve and festive. The hostesses were very kind and patient with the crowd. Cons: It was very loud, but then again it was Christmas Eve so not a big deal. Our reservation was pushed back from 6:15 to 6:45. The restaurant promised complimentary dessert for the inconvenience and that was not honored.
