Ordered dinner including chips. Waited one hour, it came minus chips! Called shop and they said we didn’t order any which we said wasn’t true and if they look clearly in to their order history as our addresses are saved to our phone numbers they can clearly see we always order chips. They then said we would have to wait 30 mins so we didn’t have a choice if we wanted them. So part 2 of our dinner arrived. I asked my husband how much did they charge and he said £8!! I looked online and large chips were £5.60. They charged delivery again!! Rang them back and they said as we didn’t order chips in first order they would charge delivery. A great little plaice (get it? , Which does just what you need! Great portion sizes, not too expensive and friendly service to boot. They do a range of bundles that are written by hand, so always worth a visit to see what they're doing in-shop! I used to come here on a regular basis to get my lunch each week. NOT ANYMORE, the price increase is ridiculous and it is not worth it. I used to get a lunchtime deal that costs £5.00 For the same meal they are now charging £7.50 (without a drink). Inflation is understandable but those price increases are not worth it. EDIT : Sadly the last couple of times the quality has went downhill with much smaller portions and uncooked batter. Sausage seemed different and lower quality too. Shame. Barker's are an absolutely perfect chip shop and are a clear family favourite for us. Delicious tasty food and lovely service from them, cannot fault this restaurant at all. A true gem of the area. Just wanted to say, what a lovely caring, and human business this is, Darren, their lovely delivery man is just soo thoughtful and kind, he knows what I mean! The lovely people who own/run this Fabulous, fish shop are very special and of course, the bestest fish and chips in the world thank you for being so kind, Coral, Cliffs twin sister! Xxxx
