dined here on boxing day 2010 and experienced problems with food quality. dined here again on boxing day 2011. we ordered the set menu at a fixed price as advertised, in november. on December 26th, we searched for the option of the 2 or 3 course menu, as ordered in november, we were told that it did not exist and that we were mistaken! further investigations of the (new) manager discovered the Christmas leaf and proved that we are not mistaken. she went to the kitchen and returned later to inform us that the menu had been removed due to insufficient intake and that the money would lose. I have always driven past this pub and wanted to visit. Had a drink in the comfy bar area to begin with (the atmosphere is lovely) and then went to the restaurant for our lunch booking. Was met by friendly and professional members of staff who greeted and seated us. Very attentive waitress. Lovely food with a vast array of options. My only criticism would be that there isn’t enough gluten-free variety, but the salad and chips I did have were delicious! Nice to see a separate vegan menu and even better to know that there is a great cocktail selection. Would definitely come back and have already recommended to friends and family!

Underwhelming food and overpriced beverages, if good atmosphere and service. My response to friends has simply been, Try the Victoria . Lamb kofta was simply minced lamb. Flavourless.
