As a resident in Bassersdorf, my wife and I have visited Barone since it opened and for many years have enjoyed top quality food and service. The restaurant has a lovely spacious feel, with modern décor and a relaxed atmosphere. In summer the al Fresco dining is excellent thanks to a lovely outdoor area surrounded by trees & plants and a water feature.Pizza's really are the speciality of Barone, they simply pretty much all the other pizza competition in Zurich and are so large you won't need a starter or a dessert! Italian food there is most highly recommendable. We have not been in any local restaurant as many times as we have been there. The food is great. Pizza, pasta, or also entrecote / steak, are prepared perfectly well and tasted great each and every time. We are locals and we go eat out on a regular basis and this tops them all. But it is not just the food. Inside, seating is comfortable if not romantic. Outside, the patio lets forget that one is actually in Kloten (of all places). Anywhere it is possible to talk and not be disturbed. And the service personnel is charming, very funny, caring and nice. They are fast, attentive and polite. It is a joy to go there just for that but really it is so...
I love this place. The food quality is very high, portions are large and the menu is quite diverse with regular specials. The prices are good for Switzerland (chf 35 for a main meal and a few drinks). The staff are always very friendly and rypically you are given a free grappa and wxpresso after the meal. Also the venue is very big with outdoor seating for summer days.
The pizza is definitely worth highlighting, the dough definitely had a long resting time, the toppings and the taste were very good. Unfortunately the Aperol Spritz was a bit small for the price and too warm despite having ice cream. Conclusion: it's worth visiting the restaurant, but it's definitely not cheap Reserva una mesa ahora
