Did I just land in Mumbai? Basanti is as real as it gets. My local hangout and could eat here everyday sometimes hitting this place up 3 4x per week I’m not the only one the number of Uber Eats guys who show up at dinner time is insane and at times, I’m the odd one out in a restaurant full of Mubaians). This place holds it own in a smaller community with no shortage of restaurants and located on the other side of the railroad tracks, literally, where many tourists venture/land given the train station and location of Mission SanJuan. Everything is cooked to order, and I love that I can enjoy a meal alongside the locals. The staff is genuinely authentic and they can handle the same, if not more spice than I can — which is impressive considering I'm just a white girl from the Midwest! They also accommodate those who prefer no spice, like my twin grandkids, who absolutely love the buttered naan and tandoori chicken. The owner, a first-generation immigrant (I believe), is the nicest and humblest person. He recognized me at another San Juan restaurant once and even bought me a glass of wine! Great food and atmosphere,authentic Indian food seriously. Highly recommend you come here and try the food. The service is absolutely fantastic and they are highly detail oriented and provide you real service. By far the best Indian restaurant in Orange County and I would say LA County. The bread is amazing and the desert Gulaab Jamun is just the right amount to give you a sweet taste at the end of your meal. We fell in love with this restaurant the moment we stepped inside. The ambiance is charming, and everything is impeccably clean. The food was outstanding—fresh and flavorful. We will definitely be coming back more frequently. As for wheelchair accessibility, it was excellent. The staff was incredibly helpful, accommodating our wheelchair under the table and even offering to store it if we wanted to switch to dining chairs. It was great to know they had options available for us.

We just had lunch here for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious. We ordered the mixed chicken tandoori, roasted eggplant, and, of course, garlic naan. Everything was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The service was also great; our waiter was polite and attentive. Food: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Atmosphere: 5 stars.

The interior has recently been upgraded, creating a wonderful ambiance. There are plenty of excellent vegetarian options available, and parking is easy with ample space in the lot. The restaurant is also very welcoming for kids.

Everything at this restaurant is delightful. The service is outstanding, with everyone going the extra mile. Parking is free, and there’s plenty of space available. This is the best restaurant in Southern California!

As of 2024 no lunch specials any longer. You pay dinner prices for lunch. Not worth the price to be honest. Food tasted reheated and mushy. Will not come back.
