Basil Pasta Bar Co

This is a casual restaurant with currently two locations in Vancouver offering pasta dishes at very affordable price. I visited their Kits location on Yew (their other location is in Downtown on Davie). In adition to their 'House Special Pastas ', they have a Build Your Own option where you get to pick your own combinations of sauces, meat etc. I went with the latter option, and got a Fussili and Gnocchi. Although I did find their sauces to be a bit bland an underwhelming, I still quite enjoyed the pastas, and am very impressed by the very generous amount of meat and cheese they provide. They did appear to have overcharged me: on my receipt I noticed that there was an additional $1.50 charge...

This is the first 5 I have ever given out and it is well deserved as they ticked off every positive I look for in a restaurant. Posh eateries with expensive wine lists are not my thing and especially not after a rainy day around False Creek. Something delicious, filling, and affordable in a relaxed setting with amiable staff is what hits the spot and Basil Pasta Bar did that to a T. On another reviewer's recommendation I tried the Penne Arrabiata and was astonished at the serving size and the amount of wonderfully melting goat cheese they brought it. We had some credits to use for dinner the other night so we decided on pasta. There wasn't a lot of options so we chose Basil Pasta Bar in Kits. It was the second time we used Skip The Dishes and it's very similar to Door Dash. You can save $7 on your first order with this link. Basil Pasta Bar is perhaps one of the best kept secrets in Vancouver. Build your own pasta with no limits on ingredients except for the pasta, sauce, and cheeses. My creation was packed with veggies and meat and it was incredible. The meat balls are a must get. Lillian ordered a more simple spaghetti and she was also impressed but the quality of the meal. Our bill was $27 but came out to $20 with our credits.

Ordered the Penne Arrabiata and it was amazing! The portion is huge for $8, the pasta was al dente, the sauce was flavorful and creamy (from the goat cheese) and packed with lightly spicy chorizo.Compared to places like Trattoria and Anton's this place is so much better!!

I've been hooked on Basil Pasta Bar since day 1, and that was 3+ years ago! The services offered here are simply top notch! The staff is super friendly. The portions are huge and the price is juuuuuuuuust right! I look forward to many more years w/ Basil!

Amazing portion sizes, lovely prices, and incredibly flavourful/well-made food. Will definitely return. I might recommend take out rather than eating in, as the seating is kind of cramped, but the delicious food makes up for that!

While not a fine dining kind of establishment, don’t let that put you off trying some wonderful pasta dishes. Inexpensive, and generous portions. Try the Maple Bacon Conchiglie. For the money, we were pretty happy with our food.

This is a very nice new addition to the neighborhood and me and my wife really enjoyed our visit! the staff is very friendly and the food is great! it's going to do great I am sure.

Simple and tasty pasta with the ability to create your own dishes. Good combo deals and a real cheap eats spot whether you eat in or takeaway.
