I ride past this place everyday finally stopped in. So glad I did. It's a hidden gem! I've been there 3 times this wk will make return again sometime soon. The food is good, tastes super fresh. I purchased their chicken teriyaki w/ white rice their version of orange chicken (pictured below). My son wasn't too fond of it as he's never gotten dry crispy chicken for orange chicken. I did call to complain about the issue, left a detailed msg and received no response. I went back the next day with that plate and was told that's just how they make it. I've ordered from this restaurant a few times and it has always been excellent. However, today I had an especially enjoyable experience. Feeling tired, I opted for their online pickup menu and thought I was getting a regular green curry. I was a bit surprised when I got home and realized I had mistakenly ordered a green curry burrito—something I hadn't even known was on the menu. We ordered the crispy chicken pad thai and the spicy tofu ramen, but unfortunately, the food only rated a 2 out of 5; it didn't taste very authentic. To make matters worse, we noticed a bug near our food, and the water cup had some kind of dirt at the bottom. By that point, we had already paid, so there wasn't much the restaurant could do, but they really need to focus more on cleanliness, especially during the summer months.

I've visited this restaurant several times and I've always had a great experience. We ordered a few dishes, including my favorite, drunken noodles, as well as house fried rice and orange chicken, and they all tasted wonderful. While I do think the portion size for the noodles is a bit small for the price, everything else seemed reasonably priced. Overall, this place is definitely one of my top three spots in Brookline. We ordered from Jumbowl by Basil Rice. I had the grilled fish with sweet sauce and rice. I appreciated that the sauce wasn't overly applied to the fish, allowing it to remain somewhat crispy by the time we received our order. The portion size was satisfactory for lunch. Overall, it was decent—nothing extraordinary or impressive.

Basil Rice consistently delivers delicious meals, and their delivery is always on time, if not even early! You can enjoy a satisfying meal at an affordable price. Whatever you order, be sure to try the mango sticky rice for dessert—it’s a must! Their Thai iced tea is also fantastic.

The food was excellent. As a Pad Thai enthusiast, I was really impressed with theirs. The portions were generous, and it wasn't excessively oily like many other places I've tried. We dined in, but it seemed like they mainly focus on takeout.
