Basilic et Citronnelle

I stopped in to this small restaurant for lunch and enjoyed a homey and remarkable meal. I had the veal stewed in tomatoes and olives, a very traditional provencal style. It was delicious, the meat tender and the sauce so rich and bright I sopped it all up with my bread. It was accompanied with a field greens salad in a simple dressing and a roasted sweet potato. I was struck at the simplicity of the food but the appreciation and flavors of the ingredients. I wished I had gone more times to try other things on the menu. A perfect lunch spot.

I've just tried this cosy restaurant which is situated literally a couple of meters from the flat I'm living in during this warm July in Aix. I'm sure I'll come back. Very kind the owner/cook, very simple and fresh what she prepares...there's no a fix menu, since every single day new dishes will be offered, always with a certain variety (you will have few "primi piatti", meat recipes, as well as vegetarian ones and so on)...btw, prices are definitely ok...Looking forward to trying new things in this quite and welcoming little place...

When you enter from the lane way the impression is of a sandwich style cafeteria. Not a lot of atmosphere here especially after walking past many of the lovely looking outdoor eateries in Aix. Tables are small and probably only seats 20 people. However the food is really good. I had the mussel dish and it was the tastiest meal I have had in some time. We were in a party of five and everyone commented on the excellence here.

I love this little restaurant, hidden in a back street past the Cours Mirabeau; they always have a couple of creative and fresh dishes on offer, with great ingredients; service is very friendly and efficient (great if you're short on time); interior is not a stunner but cozy nonetheless; price quality ratio is excellent; perfect for a light little lunch, away from the masses in the busy city centre. a small restaurant at the top of the mirabeau courtyard, where you eat good dishes cooked with fresh products. desserts are delicious too. We can even have some stuff to eat. the owner and cook anne and the waitress and pastry gwen are always very welcoming! A must-see!

On the occasion of the change of owner, had the opportunity to come to lunch and did not regret...delicious little stuffed who enchanted my taste buds and the orange duck had the same effect on the person who had come to lunch with me and who also discovered the place.
