Visited Stokesley farmers market for the first time since covid . We went late to avoid the crowds. Had a walk around this beautiful market town and came across this lovely fish shop..and so pleased we did. We only wanted portion chips. Regular portion was huge so amended second order to small.. more than ample . They were cooked to perfection .We sat outside in the sunshine on table and chairs provided and we were offered a complimentary cup tea. We were pleasantly surprised but seems they offer this if eating within the premises. This offer made our day and we would certainly return for fish and chip's next time we visit Stokesley.. thoroughly recommended.
We visited Bassletons for the first time this evening with our two grandchildren. Can't praise the staff enough, they were friendly and helpful even bringing a table for us to use inside. Fish and chips were delicious and very generous portions the childrens chicken nuggets were great too. Thank you for a very enjoyable visit
The best fish and chip shop around . lovely staff and consistently good fish and chips , go the extra mile . Almost don’t want to give this review as may get busier and then have longer to wait as always cooks to order so super fresh every time . Always lovely crispy batter and perfectly cooked chips .
Lunchtime pop in where we were presently surprised by the friendly and kind staff. The fish and chips were lovely as were the onion rings. It all felt so nice so we ate on the window counter. Looking forward to returning.

Great customer service… nice and clean inside and outside, and the best fish and chips that I’ve ever had, a place where you can sit down and wait for your meal
Bassletins was recommended so we gave it a try and it was terrible the chips were soft and the fish was not good at all. Won’t be going back ever
it was absolutely stunning never eaten anything better before it was abit slow cause there was many people but got there in the end
I regularly drive from Great Ayton to buy fish and chips here. Need I say more? The staff are friendly and the fish excellent.
