During our short break just a few miles away, we decided to visit The Squirrel based on the recommendation from our holiday cottage, mentioning its wheelchair accessibility, which is important to us. We had dinner there and were impressed by the large portions of high-quality food offered at a very reasonable price. The staff was very friendly and we were so impressed that we booked a lunch reservation a few days later, which was equally excellent. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem, and the locals are fortunate to have it in their area.

There are plenty of parking spots available at this restaurant. The food was excellent, with fresh vegetables and a delicious homemade chicken and leek pie. The bar is well-stocked with a wide selection of beers to choose from. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning again in the future.

Eleven of us met yesterday at a large family reunion. We had a lavish lunch and stayed quite a long time. We were well looked after by the staff and we ate lavishly. Indeed the portion sizes were huge. The food was nicely presented and the staff were attentive and pleasant.

Terrible experience at this restaurant. The manager was rude and wouldn't allow us to order drinks at the bar. The food was mediocre at best, with undercooked roast potatoes, tough meat, and a cold dining room.

We had a lovely lunch here at the start of our mid week break in Battle. We were made very welcome, had an excellent lunch, beautifully cooked and presented. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.
