A sign outside advertising what's basically German meatloaf (Hackbraten) with mushroom cream sauce and bread dumplings drew me in, and the price seemed OK. I was also drawn in by the large chestnut trees in the beer garden.The food was OK, maybe a little above average; the only thing that was a little off was the texture of the meatloaf (really smooth and almost too soft). Went for dinner, we checked with the waitress if the sausages comes with french fries. She confirnm, check again and mention in german pommes.We received luke cold beer, and waited for about 30-40 min. for the food. Asked the waitress for it, 5 more minutes of waiting, we told her that if the food is not ready we would like the check. She came with a plate with baked potatos, and start convince us to accept it. Then she told us that it will take another 10 minutes for the pommes. We asked to leave. She start yelling at us "you must eat it".Eat the sausages, pointed on the plate, "eat from here, this is yours" pointing on the potatos "this is not yous", and the pommes will be ready in 10 min....
We spent 10 days traveling around Bavaria and hands down this was the best meal of the trip. We had asked a local where to eat and she directed us to this restaurant. I ordered Lowen-pfandl, spätzle with pork tenderloin and ham with au gratin sauce and béarnaise sauce-delicious! The bearnaise sauce really added to the dish. My husband ordered sauterbraten, he was equally pleased. I was stuffed but we had to get the apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce to share. Bayerischer Lowe is a strait Bierhaus in Passau. Nobody expects light meals here, and food is really good. We had sausages and schnitzels and did not regret. The meals were extremely delicious with a large weiss biers.

Typical Bavarian Restaurant! Very good food for reasonable prices. If you are very hungry, this is definitely the best choice. In Summer there is a great "Biergarten"! Visiting Passau, this Place is an absolute Must.
This place came highly recommended by a friend who lived in the city for several years. I asked specifically for a place that did A PERFECT EXPRESSION OF LOCAL CUISINE. Bayerischer Lowe did NOT disappoint!
A pleasant place in the centre of town. Menu lots to offer. Selection of Passauerwuerste would have been tastier if sourced from local butcher! Not convinced by local beer rather watery. Price reasonable.
Choose the place looking up in trip advisor and agree with the choice. It is a brewery restaurant with local specialities. Check out the weissbier.

Had a wonderful lunch here. It was raining outside and this restaurant was warm and cozy and the lunch was excellent.
A very good, hygeine restaurant with excellent food quality. I am a big fan of German Wiess beer .Great ambience.
