Had dinner here recently- been a few years since we ate at this restaurant since the start of COVID. We were happy that it was quiet with only a few other people there. Very surprised at the high prices posted on an interesting menu. Quite expensive for what is offered. Kafta Kebab and Shwarma Chicken Platter. Kebab overcooked and dry- not sure if veggies were fresh or frozen. Host was amiable if a bit too 'political ' for us in his topics of conversation. We wanted a quiet evening out not a political discussion.
Owner extremely rude and defensive after I pointed out his menu is not updated on Google, to the point of saying I’m not an IT person after I explained that I’m a App developer. All he had to do was say “thank you. I’ll look into it.” But he kept arguing instead. Very unprofessional. The price on Google for lunch special was 11.99, the menu he had on the counter was 14.99. I just checked my cc charge and it has a pending charge for 17.04, way more than NJ 0.06625 tax rate.
I just stopped in for a quick lunch. The food, the atmosphere, the owner were all fantastic. This hidden gem made my day. I had the chicken shawarma lunch special. So good. It came with a garlic sauce that should be sold to customers as they are leaving. The meal was topped off with a phenomenal piece of pistachio baklava. It was my first time but definitely will not be my last. Service: Dine in
I came here for the first time . Will not come back. Food tastes good but lunch special portions is way to little Lamb kofta kebabs like two little cigars , and 1 tablespoon of baba ganoush . Really a portion to feed the child .. Looks a little bit different on advertisement board in front of the store. I wish I took a picture to post here . Good luck to the restaurant Food: 4

Bayroot has super authentic Lebanese food, specializing in just that. No mixing other cuisines, just straight up legit Lebanese food. Owner was a delight to talk to, we talked food, travel and the importance of both in a well rounded life. Great place, great food, great owner! Driving by the area and found Bayroot. We had a great breakfast, manakeesh (pies) Zaatar, cheese and meat and of course Lebanese coffee. We loved the food so much we took more sandwiches for the trip. the owner is very friendly and welcoming. Thank you Maher.
