Called here for lunch and drinks. Pleasant pub thats actually more like a restaurant, very well decorated and friendly staff. We prefer a cosy pub but hey ho. We were unlucky to be seated in a small snug. There was a table of 4 elderly folk, perhaps hard of hearing across the snug and we could clearly hear every shouted word of their conversation discussing who in their family had covid and every detail of it. Wife had fish and chips which was a large fish and ample chips. No complaints, pretty good. I plumped for chicken “stuffed” with black pudding , pepper sauce served with new potatoes and veg. This wasn’t quite so good. 3 really tiny new potatoes, two pieces of chicken with a tiny hint...
Had an excellent lunch today from the Christmas Menu. Had salmon which was just so delicious. . So fresh and well cooked and beautifully presented. The beans, sprouts and potatoes were also excellent as was the sauce. Importantly the plate was really very hot. Makes such a difference to the meal. Followed this with the Chocolate Brownie which also was so delightfully presented and tasty. This was followed by Coffee and a mince pie. Pastry was excellent and this was served hot. My compliments to the chef and also the lovely ladies who served us. One of the best meals I have had in a restaurant for a while.
I really like the food, seating a bit cramped, can get very noisy, service good, however be sure to check your bill, been given the wrong one twice, easy mistake to make but never an apology. Try and book a table in the main room if you can, but as others have said could do with a roaring fire. That being said, I still love this pub and its food.
I had a great lunch at this restaurant. The chef cooked the food beautifully and served it on hot plates. The serving staff were helpful, friendly, and efficient. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Thank you to everyone involved.

I had an excellent meal at The Bears Paw. I have visited before and always question if it will be just as good. However, I had no concerns as the food was fantastic and offered amazing value. I will definitely be returning soon.
Huge thanks for squeezing us in when we turned up last Friday on our way to Liverpool. Fabulous lunch served by lovely friendly people. The choice was amazing and the food was so tasty too. Highly recommend.
Lovely pub with great pub food and a good range of specials. The food was delicious and the staff welcoming, friendly and just the right level of attentive. Will definitely be returning
This restaurant is fantastic. The food is consistently excellent in quality and the prices are competitive. The service is always top-notch. I have no complaints.
