Our malfunctioning GPS led us to this pub, and what a delightful find it was. The atmosphere was lively, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. The beer was well-kept, and the home-cooked meals were a treat. The homemade cakes looked tempting, but we decided on the fishcake, bubble and squeak hash, and a sandwich. The fishcake and hash came with vegetables, and at £14 for both dishes, they were definitely worth it. The ham sandwich was generously stuffed, too. We were pleasantly surprised by the calm ambiance, especially considering the excellent combination of quality and value the place offered.
Popped in for the first time a lovely warm welcome from the landlord. Ordered rhubarb ginger gin with elderflower tonic and was offered a slice of ginger to accompany my drink- excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble, the landlord even allowed us to sit in the beer garden even though it was dark he turned the outside lights on which transformed the beer garden to wonderfully looking forward to going back. With our dog also.
A lovely country pub ,dog friendly and a good size ,with outside seating and some parking. Inside was warm and welcoming. There is a slightly separate room with a pool table and TV. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. The mixed tray of sandwiches we had were delicious and very fresh. The toilets were clean. It is situated on a steep hill but worth the climb.
Bar staff Holly was amazing very friendly and helpful as we have been in this pub before food excellent I had fish chip and partner had corn beef hash both dishes excellent will definitely return again but will ring up for a table as its quiet a small place

I haven't been here for eight years, but it's fantastic to be back. The beer is as great as ever, and the new beer garden looks wonderful!
Traditional pub with great choice of real ales, home cooked food at lunchtimes. Large well kept beer garden to rear . Spotlessly clean
My family and I return time and again, and we always enjoy our visits. The atmosphere is consistently warm and welcoming.
