I am from Australia. I visit New York as much as I can. I make a point to visit Beckman’s Deli for what I think, is one of the tastiest sandwiches in New York, made with love by some really good blokes. Do yourself a favour and get in there and get a sandwich. Tell ‘em the big Aussie bloke sent ya!
I visit this place almost every morning for a coffee and sandwich. I'm always welcomed like a friend, and I really appreciate that they remember my order. They don't accept credit cards, but if you forget to bring cash, you can use Venmo! The food is excellent, and the staff is very friendly.
I used to always get my sandwiches from Brian, and they were really good. Unfortunately, they've been disappointing lately. He used to put a lot of care into his sandwiches, but I’m not sure if he’s stressed or what’s going on. I hope he can resolve it because nobody wants a subpar sandwich.
I've been going to Beckmann for many years and it's still one of the best delis on Long Island. Stop an egg sandwich as you like it, or get one of their generously filled heroes. The homemade salads here are fantastic, and I absolutely love their rice pudding. However, I noticed they've stopped adding meringue to it, which was one of the features that made their rice pudding so delicious!
As a first-time visitor, I ordered the egg salad sandwich and found it to be delicious. However, I thought it was a bit pricey at $9.50, which is comparable to some of their more expensive sandwiches.
The sandwiches are good, but they are overpriced and the service leaves much to be desired. Additionally, they skimp on the pickles.
