The restaurant is located in a hotel, which felt a bit unusual for such a beautiful establishment, but that didn't take away from the experience. We started off with coffee and incredibly soft focaccia bread served with a mix of olive oil and vinegar—absolutely delicious! I really enjoyed that.
Our first course was an appetizer. I had a chicory salad topped with cheese and thinly sliced raw filet mignon. I was hesitant about eating raw meat but decided to give it a try. It turned out to be very good! My wife had a tomato soup with breadsticks.

I must admit, I hesitated a bit at the thought of raw meat, but I decided to give it a try anyway. While I'm not an expert on gourmet dishes, I found it quite enjoyable! My wife opted for tomato soup with breadsticks, which she also liked.
During the second course, we both chose salads. She had a spinach salad with walnuts and blue cheese, while mine was a Caesar salad served with a whole head of romaine lettuce still intact! That presentation was a first for me. Though it was decent, it turned out to be my least favorite part of the meal.

The appetizers were really tasty, and the salads were just okay. However, the entrées were disappointing—pasta that was mushy, overly sauced, or dry. The flavors were passable, but not enough to salvage the dishes. We suggested that she mention our concerns to the chef, but it was clear she felt intimidated by him. Instead, she kindly offered us a complimentary bottle of wine, which was nice of her, but it didn’t address the food issues.
I hope this was just an off night in the kitchen, as dining on the patio on a beautiful summer evening should have been a lovely experience. We ended up leaving at 9:30, just after finishing our meals, after three hours of waiting!
In my view, this is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Helena, with only Maison coming close. We've sampled nearly 90% of the menu, and we've consistently been impressed, especially by standout dishes like the filet with peppercorn, which I would rate a perfect 10/10. The prices are quite reasonable considering the high quality of the ingredients and the creative approach to the menu. I strongly recommend opting for the four-course meal! Moreover, the service and ownership have been exceptional during each of our three visits over the past year. I highly, highly recommend Bella Roma!

I've decided that this is the only place in town that I will go to eat out. I order the steak and it was great. The bartender and staff are knowledgeable and friendly. This place doesn't compare to the trash food, drinks and service in Helena. They haveactual chefs and bartenders who take pride in what they do. The drinks are fantastic. Spend the money it's worth it. So sick ofunexperienced rude waiters and bartenders around town. This place is the exact opposite beyond competent and attentive.
I started with a caprese salad, and the balsamic vinegar and oil were exceptionally flavorful, as was the side of focaccia. For my main course, I chose the Ravioli Al Tartufo, which had a delightful truffle flavor in the creamy sauce. The ravioli were stuffed with a delicious five-cheese mixture and topped with Parmigiano Reggiano.
To finish off my meal, I had tiramisu, which tasted just like the one my parents make, accompanied by a caffè lungo.
This is a great place to dine in Helena! I enjoyed the four-course dinner, and it was definitely worth it! Everything was amazing. My friend and my mother had the nasty eye, and they both loved it. The filet mignon had quite a bit of pepper, which I had to scrape off because it made it a bit hard to eat. The desserts were fantastic, and the service was excellent as well.
It's my first time here, and I'm truly impressed! The atmosphere really reminds me of Rome. Our server was fantastic! I wish I could remember his name. He was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The seafood ravioli was exceptionally delicious. A big thanks to the chef and all the staff. Thank you!

We had an amazing experience! My husband and I went to this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, and it far surpassed our expectations. The food was outstanding, and the service was superb! We highly recommend this place for an upscale dining experience.
