I enjoyed two great meals at this South Melbourne establishment during a recent visit, with a friend the first time and my partner the second. Highlights amongst a range of plates tried were agro dolce ocean trout & red anchovies (served with capers, crema fresca and pangrattato), the Angelica Farm carrots (with almond & yoghurt, and sumac) and the lamb shoulder gnocchetti. But other diners were raving about other dishes too.There’s a great selections of gins, whiskies and wines, with the added bonus of being able to pop through to Prince Wine Store next door and choose from their extensive range. We have been to Bellota quite often and always enjoyed it.Went again last night - to try it after new Chef appointedAnd it really has gone up a notch - the food was fabulous - who could think that a Pickle Starter could be so good.Four of us had 4 different mains and all rated them as delicious. I had the steak and it was great - really tender and flavoursome, and nicely garnished. Th eplace has a great atmosphere and was really buzzing - had to take a very early booking to get in.The atmosphere is great - the wine range outstanding - an excellent list plus access to Prince Wine Store's (next door) full range for $15 on top of retail Overall a great place - we certainly will become regulars

This is my favourite restaurant in Melbourne for a casual no fuss meal, the food is always good (although they could do with a change of menu about now) the service can sometimes be a touch slow but its offset by charming and knowledgable staff. However what makes this place so special is the ability to shoot into the Prince wine shop and select the perfect wine and then incur a $20.00 surcharge over bottle shop prices to have it served to you! For a wine tragic like me its the best of both worlds and so affordable

We would have loved to order mains but after 2 hours of sitting waiting for both dishes the kitchen was closed. They must have been very understaffed because every single time we wanted a wine we had to go find someone who then would usually ignore us and come back to the table a few minutes later. The lady at the cheese prep area was very nice and gave us a little free cheese for our long wait for our board. Will go back but hope for a better customer service experience. We celebrated my birthday at Bellota and had a really lovely dinner. The food was great and we really enjoyed the wine we chose. We tried a Salumi plate, oysters, ham hock and pork schnitzel. We were a bit disappointed to find that Nicky, Head Chef, was having a night off but the food was still fabulous. Our waiter was fantastic. He was friendly and very helpful with a suggestion to get round a food allergy. We will definitely return to this lovely restaurant.

This is a lovely place - friendly, great food, helpful service. I had quail with polenta and roast grapes - interesting and delicious. My people had john dory with clams and other things - that was very tasty too. You can wander through their wine store next door too. This was a great family celebration for us.

What a pleasant surprise. Great wine, great food, outstanding service. Will definitely return. The atmosphere at the front was busy with people enjoying a glass of wine and tapas while at the back has a small number of tables which you can book in advance. Brilliant restaurant/wine bar

Paid a surprise visit to a friend and we dined here. Absolutely fabulous! We were so busy catching up that we left our dinner choices up to the waitress, including wine matches - she did a fabulous job, we loved it all. The courtyard area was perfect too - lovely! Reserva una mesa ahora

Bellota is an old favourite and I try not to go if I can't get one of the 4 tables. The food is consistently great and the wine choices excellent. Love the atmosphere and the vibe along with the food. Went again a few nights ago and loved it again.

I had their ricotta gnocchi and a glass of Nebbiolo the first time and fell in Love with their food and cosy atmosphere. Came back again with my friends, always good.
