Interesting fusion. Love the softshell crab bao, the texture was great with the crunchy fried softshell crab and fresh vegetables and the sauce balanced the flavours well. Baogers have an interesting texture (and funny names too , more fulfilling than expected. Ordered the magic mushroom bao (with chocolate filling for dessert, the mushroom-shaped baos look absolutely adorable, not overly sweet too. Staff was attentive and friendly even during peak hours. If a booking is not made then you’d probably have to put your details down on the wait list and come back in 15-20mins. Drinks and cocktails sound delicious by their names and ingredients but were a bit overpriced imo. Can use forks knives...

I haven’t been to belly bao since it moved to Newtown. The spicy bai noodles with the roast pork was 10/10! The noodles were like flat rice noodles but a bit chewier. The seasoning was perfect however the portion was small : . Curry cheese fries were yummy too, you can’t go wrong with Japanese curry and some fresh fries. Now time for the baos. The panko crumbed chicken bao was what I expected. Pretty much chicken sandwich except on a bao instead of bread. Slow braised pork belly and beef short rib was exceptional though. Overall, wouldn’t dine here all the time as you would pay a heap to get full as besides the baos, the portion sizes are small haha.

Popular Asian fusion in Newtown, had an early evening visit, the place was really busy already, got the last two seats by the window, people came after us had to wait for a while to get the seats. Ordered the roast pork belly bao, beef short ribs bao and the onion bao noodle, as we had plans to go to another place for dessert, so didn’t try the dessert here. Both baos were good, with tasty fillings. The noodle was ok, taste a bit on the plain side for me, maybe I should have ordered the spicy noodle instead. Overall, it seems to be a good place to meet friends and have a quick bite.

I highly recommend this restaurant! The atmosphere is cozy and lively, with background music that sets the perfect mood without overpowering conversations with friends. The food was incredibly delicious - I can't wait to come back and try more items from the menu. Be sure to make a reservation or order some takeout as soon as possible! Reserva una mesa ahora

The portions are small but packed with delicious flavor. The restaurant has limited seating, so we ended up sitting at the bar, which had minimal table space. The noodles were incredibly spicy, and the buns were soft and delicious. The prices are a bit high, but that's to be expected in Newtown.

Very delicious bao! The buns are extremely soft and the filling is very tasty and satisfying. Chips are deliciously crispy and flavorful! The gin and black pepper cocktail is very refreshing as well. Not a super filling meal but very delicious. Would definitely come back!

The Baoger is definitely one of a kind. All the right kinds of flavours a burger should have. The spicy noodles are amazing too. Top it off with the pandan balls which are just the right amount of sweetness without being too overwhelming.

Great atmosphere and the bao fillings were super tasty. The curry fries were a quirky combo, but somehow just worked. The highlight of the evening though, was definitely the Apple bao jug.
