On a weeks trip in Oberammergau we visited this joint several times.This first time was Sunday evening after a 5 hour drive; all I wanted was easy food, a big juicy burger. That's exactly what we got; the menu isn't extensive but that's a good thing. The texas burger we chose was delicious and juicy but not so big it falls a part like some restaurants.We spoke to the owner Tim, who took the time to describe how he made them but also said his ribs were worth a shout (see pic).So we can back later in the week for the ribs! WOW simply WOW. You could have eaten them off the bone with a spoon they were that soft and juicy. But the marinade is the winner; soaked in a rich sweet bbq sauce that ever...
We found this little gem by accident. It is situated just off the main square with the wooden puppets pictured above in the window. We have been in Germany for 4 months now and have been hotel hopping the entire time. Sometimes you just crave a good, down home American burger and wings. We have been disappointed so many times at this point with the German version of American that we did not have any expectations. When the owner came to our table and gave the option on how he wanted the wings prepared, we knew we hit the jackpot. Oh yes, and his custom Death by Chocolate was amazing! Gottseidank hat dieses Lokal geschlossen oder ist vielleicht auch geschlossen worden. Alles furchtbar. Zum bisher schlechtesten Lokal in dem ich war und zum Bemsl ist noch mal ein Riesenabstand. Schlecht, schlechter am schlechtesten kann man da nur sagen. Hatten dann auch noch das Pech, dass wir an Sylvester dort waren. Jetzt ist mir klar warum es in Oberammergau an Sylvester nur im Bemsl noch Plätze gab. Null Auswahl beim Essen . Üble Pommes (noch weiß und nach altem Fett riechend) und üble Burger gabs. Sonst nichts. Von wegen Spare Rips oder Steaks etc Und auf den Mist musste man noch lange warten obwohl im Lokal nicht viel los war. Und seltsames Personal. Haben das Lokal nach kurzer Zeit,...
Das komplette Personal wir waren die ersten Gäste und haben essen bestellt nach 1. 10 Std. haben wir das Essen storniert und sind zum Essen ins El Puente. Die Besitzerin sieht uns auf keinen Fall mehr in ihrer Kneipe. Andere Gäste an neben Tischen haben gesagt es ist hier immer so und essen vorher wo anders und kommen erst auf ein Bierchen. Aber das Bierchen konnten wir auch nicht trinken weil die Gläser nicht sauber und leichten komischen Geruch hatten. Schade echt !!!!!

This place lives up to its declaration.......best burgers in town. They are simply the best, and then the recommendation from the dessert menu to try death by chocolate.....first of all it fed a family of 5, kids didn't want to leave Oberammergau so they could have it again. Tim the cook and host is a true gentlemen and took to time to sit and chat with us both nights. So in essence a HUGE thumbs up for this place, great food and company.

Wir hatten Nachos, Tacos und Spare Ribs, das Essen war durchweg sehr gut. Der Service hervorragend. Wir kommen gerne und sicher wieder. Grüße aus dem Schwarzwald

Waren sehr enttäuscht. Unfreundliches Personal! Rauchen im Vorzimmer zur Küche geht auch gar nicht! Verbrannte Burger aus billig Produkten!
