The unexpected highlight was the excellent food. I ordered because vegetarian handcuffs field salad apple ragout. What's so simple, it's an absolute taste experience. The dish was creatively spiced and wonderfully dressed. At this point again thumbs up for the cook.

Should you be on a hike between Saalburg and Sandplacken you should not miss Herzbergtum for the magnificent view and the Berggasthof for a Kaffee und Kuchen or a real meal. The menu is not long, the meals are simple but good an filling. We...have also celebrated a birthday up there, it was great!
