our room was spacious with a great view of the Panixerpass, a modern bathroom and a lot of space for the walk. the hotel has a boot space in the cellar, ideal to keep the community rooms clean. the dinners were simple but plentiful, with focus on local products and regional specialties. the evening meal was served on the terrace, on which is a magnificent view of the alps, including the glarner oversliding and the martinsloch. the breakfast buffet included a lot of broth, meat and cheese, chalk and yogurt as well as cooked eggs. the hostess, silvia hefti, is very friendly and helpful, she could accommodate my food restrictions without fuss or drama. her father provided very helpful information about how to start our hike the next day. we want to go back!
