Bergrestaurant Tschentenalp

Just visited Tschentenalp yesterday, as some business brought me to Adelboden. Actually, wanted to go there on Monday but realised that the only Restaurant on this alp is closed on Tuesdays in the middle of peak season! Well, we managed to get there on Wednesday on a foggy and rather unfriendly day. Being Swiss, living near Thun, I know the wonderful view from the well placed and organised terrace already. The interior of the Restaurant is despite its fancy lounge-style touch friendly and cosy enough but somewhat out of place. A day trip to Adelboden lead to taking the gondola to the TschentenAlp. Time for a cold drink and deciding if we should have lunch here or later wane we hiked back to Adelboden. We were sitting on the terrace, enjoying the picture perfect view in hot sunny the table next to us were served their meals. The presentation was outstanding, and our decision was made; we ordered our lunch there. Whilst a pulled pork burger or alpine sushi are certainly not traditional Swiss dishes, but the friendly hospitality and quality of the food are. Amazing views and a useful place to shelter when the rains came in. At the top of the cable car run this restaurant serves good lunch time open sandwiches with soft drinks attentive service. Can't imagine going up there with an elderly parent unless there was somewhere like this if the weather changed suddenly

Absolute shocking service. Food took over an hour, with no expectation management in the beginning. Food arrived below average, luke warm. Throughly disappointed. Definitely a place that takes advantage of the nice view, so they can slack in the service and food. Reserva una mesa ahora

This mountain restaurant has fantastic views! Very good place both for lunch or a coffee. Staff is friendly and service is quick. Quality of the food is very good. The place is nicely decorated and has a cozy feeling. If sunny the terrace is also nice.

The place is clean and has a very nice view towards the valley. We had a simple cheese fondue, which was very good. We could achieve even the formation of the bottom cheese crust, a salty delicious.

Unexpectedly posh place with a fantastic view over Adelboden. We liked the menu and the quality was good also friendly fast service. Maybe not super cheap.

Wonderful sunny terrace with a great view, lovely food and its own beer. Definitely worth grabbing lunch there if you are skiing or hiking up there! Reserva una mesa ahora

The sole of the snowboard boots had come loose. The staff organized tape for us so we could continue to enjoy the day. Thank you very much.
